Why would a middle-aged, African-American man who was born and raised in the Bronx start a blog about investing?
It seems that someone with more of an upper-middle-class background would be more likely to start this type of blog…right?
However…the reason I wrote my beginners’ investment guide, The Stock Market is for Everyone, and started the blog you are now reading, is that I have learned a very valuable lesson the last 20 years of my life.
I learned that the answer to the average Joe’s question “How can I become wealthy?” lies in the stock market.
I named this blog Wealthy Joe Investing because I want average, everyday people from all over the world to know that they can become financially free by investing over time and just being patient.
Case in point: in January of 2012, you could have purchased shares of Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) for $173 a share. Now, in October 2017, these shares are trading at $1,102 per share. That is an increase of 637 percent!
Let me repeat that – your investment would have grown by 637 PERCENT had you invested in Amazon only a few years ago!!!
