About 40 years ago, the most valuable company in America was IBM, with a market cap of $39 billion.
At the time, most investors couldn’t conceive of a company with a $100 billion market cap.
Nowadays, $200 billion is considered a tiny company!
There are multiple companies today with market caps that exceed $400 billion:
Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL): $1 trillion
Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN): $955 billion
Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL): $700 billion
Alibaba (NYSE: BABA): $400 billion
Facebook (NASDAQ: FB): $391 billion
Tencent (TCEHY): $385 billion
I think over the long term we will see companies with multiple trillion dollar market caps. Many of the opportunities that exist today are in the trillions.
That means that if you buy and hold a winner, you could be looking at life changing wealth.
Until next time…
My book, The Stock Market is For Everyone, is a short guide for the beginning, inexperienced investor that is easy to understand and can be put into action immediately.
