Market drawdowns are not easy to stomach. Even for the most experienced investors.
I was reminded today of a poem by Rudyard Kipling that is so simple, yet powerful, during moments like these. It’s called “If”:
“If you can keep your head when all about you is losing theirs…If you can wait and not be tired of waiting…If you can think and not make thoughts your aim…If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you…Yours is the earth and everything that is in it.”
This is, without a doubt, one of my favorite poems…and one you should remember during times like these.
